Jeet was born on 30 November 1978 in Kolkata in a Middle Class Family. His father was business man. Jeet completed his graduation from Kolkata and started his career as a model and tv serials. He did some popular advertise for television. Nawab T- Shirt advertisement was one of them. He did many serials like Janani, Bishbrikkha and others.
He had an interest in theatre and cinema and he regularly went to movies in his school days in Kolkata. He also tried to follow the style and attitude of the leading Hollywood and Bollywood actors of his time. He is a very big fan of Amitabh Bachchan.
Once his friend told him to try his luck in cinemas. He did Chandu, it was his debut film. But Chandu did not well in box office. Then after some days he got an offer from Haranath Chakraborty for Saathi in 2002. Priyanka Trivedi was in opposite of Jeet. Firstly the role of Saathi went to Prasenjit Chatterjee but he denied to do a College Student role. Saathi's offer went to Jeet.
Once in an Interview Jeet told that 'he believe in talent and hard work, if Saathi's offer did not come to him, then Haati's offer (It meant any other films) may come to him, if you have talent and able to do hard work success will always come.'
Saathi got huge success. Mainly the songs and freshness of the film got massive response from Bengali Audience. It was a huge move to the New Popular Bengali Cinema.
People did not go to the theatre hall to watch Bengali Movie. Saathi forces him with it's music to Bengali Audience towards Cinema Hall. Before Saathi Cinema Halls had the plan to close but Saathi gave him a new energy to go far away.
After Saathi, Jeet did not look back in his career. Koyel Mallik debuted with him in Nater Guru. People appreciate them and consider them as a hit pair after Prasenjit Rituparna. Tollygunje Bengali Film Industry got their pair and producers invest on them.
With Jeet Ganguly' fresh Music and Jeet - Koyel pair gave some oxygen to the bengali film industry. Prasenjit moved to the Non-Commercial Film with Rituparna Ghosh, Gautam Ghosh. There was some lack in Hardcore Commercial Film. Jeet filled the gap and entertain to the mass.
Jeet Srabonti came in Champion, it was also a Successful film. Jeet did many films continuously. There was nobody to compete him. Alongside hardcore commercial film Jeet also did Krishnakantert Will by Raja Sen. It was a classic drama. 'Krishnakanter Will' did not get a good response at the box office but Critics gave good lines for Jeet.

Jeet did Yuddho with Mithun Chakraborty and It became the most successful film of that year. Yudhho was a Multistarrer film with Debasree Chatterjee, Mithun Chakraborty, Koyel Mallick and Jeet.
SubhoDrishti was one of the most popular films. Jeet Koyel came together with Parambrata Chatterjee in the film. Prabhat Roy directed SubhoDristi's music the Heart of common people.
Thereafter Jeet started to do action films like Dui Prithibi with Dev, Boss, Badshah, Hero, Awara, Fighter, Josh etc. he also did many Romantic Family dramas like Bolo Na Tumi Amar, 100% Love, Bandhan, Saat Paake Badha etc.
Jeet also started his Production house. His production house name is Grassroot Entertainment. Grassroot Entertainment and Neeraj Pandey's Friday Filmworks did Royal Bengal Tiger combinedly. Abir Chatterjee and Jeet both were seen in the Movie.
From his own production house, Jeet released many films like Game, Bachchan, Abhiman etc. Abhimaan was his last release and did not well in box office. Now Jeet should try some different kind of film. He should leave the remakes of Tamil and Telegu.
Jeet was appeared on Television many times. He hosted for Star of Bengal in Zee Bangla and Koti Takar Bazi in Star Jalsha. Jeet also hosted the Bengali Big Boss for the Bengali Colors Channel.
Jeet also appeared in various game and reality shows as a guest like Dadagiri, Dance Bangla Dance, Mirrakel and others.
Jeet had a good pair with Swastika Chattopadhyay also. They did three / four films together and they had very good bonding in reel and real life. Wikipedia said that they had in relation to each other. But the relationship was broken and Jeet married after few years with Mohana Ratlani on 24th February, 2011.
Mohana Ratlani belongs fromLucknow. She is a school teacher. Mohana delivered a girl child on 12th December 2012.
Jeet completed his Graduation from Bhawanipur Education Society College and did not go for Higher Education. He joined his family business in Kolkata. Before coming in films Jeet lived in Kalighat with his Family. Jeet now also living in that same place with his family. He is very down to earth character and maintains his friendship with his old friends after getting success.
Jeet was nominated in Ananda Lok Awards for Five Times and Won Four of them for Best Actor. He got Tele Cine Awards for Two Times and Won Zee Bangla Gaurav Samman, Kalkar Awards, Star Jalsha Parivar Awards etc in his Career.
