Abir Chatterjee was born on 18th November 1980 in a Bengali Family in Kolkata West Bengal. His father Falguni Chatterjee was a Theatre Artist and Mother Rumki Chatterjee was also a Theatre Personality.
Abir was Born and Brought Up in Kolkata. He is a True Bengalian. Abir went to Goenka College. He completed his Bacheolors degree from Goenka college of commerce and Business Administration in Calcutta and MBA in finance from ICFAI Business School. Abir Chatterjee worked for INDIABULLS Company as a Marketing Executive for 7 Years before Joining Film Industry.
Abir started his career from Serial in Bengali Television. He was did some notable work in Bengali Television, Those are Shasuri Zindabad and Khuje Berai Kacher Manush, Banhishikha, Sudhu Tomari Jonno, Ek Aakasher Niche, Janmobhumi etc.
Proloy Aaschhe directed by Raj Chakraborty was the Most Remarkable Tele Series for Abir Chatterjee. He got a Heavy Push Up for his Acting Career by this Serial.
Abir Chatterjee got offer from Sudeshna Roy and Avijeet Guha for Their Young Romantic Comedy Cross Connection in 2009. In Cross Connection Ritwik Chakraborty and Rimjhim Mitra were in the Main Cast. Abir had a pair with Payel Sarkar in This Movie and They got same attention from public.
Cross Connection got good response from critics and public also.
After Cross Connection, Abir Chatterjee got Offer from Anjan Dutta for Byomkesh Bakshi. Anjan Dutta was finding a new Face for Byomkesh Bakshi, The Famous Fictional Bengali Detective Created by Saradindu Chattopadhyay. Abir was fit in this character.
With Saswata Chatterjee as Ajit and Ushahshi Chakraborty as Satyabati, Abir Chatterjee the New Byomkesh after Uttam Kumar and Rajit Kapoor was magnificent and Bengali Audience are Very Happy with Abir Chatterjee as Byomkesh.
Anjan Dutta and Abir Chatterjee did Abar Byomkesh in 2012 and Byomkesh Fire Elo in 2014.
Abir Chatterjee got offer from Sandip Ray for Feluda also. Feluda was also a Fictional Detective by Satyajit Ray and More Famous than Byomkesh in Bengali Littereture. Byomkesh is suitable for senseble people, but Feluda was written mainly children but Feluda got huge response from all kind of aged people in Bnegali Language.
When Abir Chatterjee agreed with Sandip Ray to do Feluda, Anjan Dutta was unhappy and told Abir Chatterjee to choose any one, Feluda or Boymkesh. Abir choose Feluda and left Byomkesh which gave him popularity in Bengali Film Industry.
Anjan Dutta made another Byomkesh with Jishu Sengupta, Jishu was got good response as Byomkesh. Now Anjan Dutta is making his Next Byomkesh with Jishu Sengupta.
In Other Side, Sandip Ray made Two Feluda with Abir Chatterjee. Arindam Sil made a Movie named Aborto with Abir Chatterjee. Arindam Sil said Abir that He had a plan to do Byomkesh again with Abir Chatterjee and He has no clash with his Feluda Image.
Abir told it Sandip Ray that He want to do Byomkesh Again. Sandip Ray was not agree and left Abir from Feluda. Now Sandip Ray is released Double Feluda with Sabyasachi Chakraborty again and Abir did Byomksh with Arindam Sil.
Moral of the Story is Anjan Dutta searched Abir for Byomkesh but Arindam Sil is enjoying film with Abir Chatterjee as Byomkesh.
Abir Chatterjee got offered from Mumbai in every month but he did not loose the base and popularity in Bengali FIlm Industry. As well as he is a true bengalian and can't live without Kolkata Essense in his Heart.
Abir did a small role in Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani just because the film was shot in Kolkata. He is very attached with Bengali People and Bengali Living. He can't manage outside of Kolkata.
Abir got married with Nandini Chatterjee in 20017 and the Couple have a Daughter. Nandini is working women.
